February on the Gold Coast: Beaches, Hinterland Adventures & Hidden Gems Near Your Broadbeach Waters & Surfers Paradise Holiday Home

February 16, 2026 by Elite Holiday Homes

February is one of the most beautiful times to experience the Gold Coast. Long sunny days, warm ocean water, lush green hinterland after summer rain and plenty of opportunities to explore — all right on your doorstep when you stay in one of our Broadbeach Waters or Surfers Paradise homes.

Whether you want beach days, rainforest walks or easy day trips, here’s our guide to making the most of your Gold Coast stay.

🌴 Beach Days You’ll Never Forget

When you stay in Broadbeach Waters or Surfers Paradise, some of Australia’s most iconic beaches are just minutes away. Early morning swims, sunset strolls and beach picnics quickly become part of the daily routine.

Surfers Paradise Beach & Broadbeach

The most famous stretch of sand on the Gold Coast is right at your doorstep. Start the day with a sunrise walk, grab coffee nearby and spend the afternoon swimming between the flags or relaxing on the sand.

Both beaches are known for their long sandy coastline and vibrant beachfront atmosphere — perfect for families, couples and groups.

Burleigh Heads Beach & National Park

A favourite with locals, Burleigh offers a relaxed coastal vibe, excellent surf and incredible ocean views. The nearby headland combines rainforest and coastal scenery, making it one of the most rewarding short walks on the coast.

Coolangatta, Kirra & Snapper Rocks

Head south for some of the most beautiful water on the Gold Coast.
Snapper Rocks is a world-famous surf break and part of the Superbank.
Coolangatta is known for its stunning beaches, viewpoints and laid-back coastal charm.

This area is perfect for a beach-hop day trip with lunch overlooking the ocean.

🌿 Hinterland Day Trips (An Absolute Must!)

One of the best things about staying on the Gold Coast is that within 45–60 minutes you can swap beaches for waterfalls, rainforest and mountain views.

Springbrook National Park

A UNESCO-listed rainforest paradise full of waterfalls, walking tracks and stunning lookouts. Highlights include:

• Natural Bridge & glow worm caves
• Best of All Lookout
• Purling Brook Falls — a spectacular 100-metre waterfall in the Gondwana Rainforests.

This is one of the most popular hinterland day trips for nature lovers.

Mount Tamborine

Charming villages, wineries, rainforest walks and boutique shops make Mount Tamborine perfect for a relaxed day exploring. It’s a favourite local escape for scenic drives and leisurely lunches.

Currumbin Valley & Wildlife Experiences

Pair a hinterland drive with a visit to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary or one of the region’s new wellness and spa experiences, which have helped the Gold Coast become a major wellness destination.

🥾 Hidden Gems & Bush Walks Locals Love

Beyond the beaches, the Gold Coast is full of peaceful walking trails and nature escapes.

Nerang National Park

Only 12km from Surfers Paradise, this peaceful park is perfect for bushwalking, bird watching and mountain biking.
It’s ideal when you want a nature escape without a long drive.

Burleigh Headland Coastal Walk

This scenic walk offers ocean views, shady rainforest sections and plenty of picnic spots. One of the most loved walking trails on the coast.

Sunset Lookouts

Some of the best sunset spots include:
• Snapper Rocks
• Burleigh Hill
• Kirra Point
• Hinterland lookouts like Moran Falls

These locations offer spectacular views as the sun sets behind the hinterland.

🛍️ Local Highlights Close to Home

When you stay in Surfers Paradise or Broadbeach Waters, entertainment and dining are always close by.

Cavill Avenue, Surfers Paradise

The heart of the Gold Coast’s shopping and entertainment precinct, filled with restaurants, nightlife and family attractions.

SkyPoint Observation Deck

For unforgettable views, head to the SkyPoint Observation Deck inside the Q1 — 230 metres above the Gold Coast.
It’s the perfect place to appreciate the coastline stretching from the surf to the hinterland.

🌞 Why February is Perfect for a Gold Coast Stay

February brings warm ocean temperatures, lush green landscapes and long summer evenings perfect for outdoor dining and sunset drinks by the water.

From beach days and hinterland adventures to hidden bushwalks and sunset picnics, everything you need for a memorable holiday is just minutes from your Elite Holiday Home.
