Welcome to our very first Weekly What’s On blog — your insider guide to the best of the Gold Coast. Each week, we’ll highlight exciting events, dining experiences, must-see spots, and hidden gems — all perfectly paired with a stay in one of our holiday homes.
Whether you’re already staying with us or planning your next getaway, here’s what’s happening on the Gold Coast from June 1st to June 7th, 2025.
Seasonal Vibes: Why June is a Hidden Gem
June on the Gold Coast is peaceful, sunny, and just cool enough for crisp morning walks and warm afternoon beach sessions. Our homes with heated pools (like Coastal Elegance or Jewel of Broadbeach) are perfect for this time of year. It’s also whale-watching season — so book a tour or keep your eyes on the ocean!
Events This Week
Cooly Rocks On Festival | 5th–9th June – Coolangatta
Australia’s largest nostalgia festival returns! Think classic cars, rock ‘n’ roll bands, vintage markets and Elvis impersonators. Perfect for families or a group getaway. Our southern Gold Coast homes are a short drive away, or make a day trip out of it from Broadbeach.
Sunday Sunset Sessions | Burleigh Hill – 2nd June
Grab a picnic rug (don’t forget we can stock your holiday home with one!) and head to Burleigh Hill for live music, ocean views, and food trucks. A perfect low-key Sunday.
Where to Eat This Week
Breakfast Pick:
Bam Bam Bakehouse – Mermaid Beach
The croissants are legendary and the coffee’s always on point. A must-do before a day of exploring.
Dinner Pick:
Etsu Izakaya – Mermaid Beach
Tucked behind a nondescript door lies a cosy, stylish Japanese bar and restaurant. Ideal for couples or a fun group night out.
Local Tip: Booking ahead is recommended, especially for weekends!
Where to Shop
If you’re in Broadbeach or Surfers, head to Pacific Fair for boutique and designer shopping, plus plenty of dining options. Guests staying at homes like Main River Magic or Sublime at Broadbeach will love how close it is!
For unique souvenirs or something handmade, check out the Surfers Paradise Beachfront Markets (Wednesday, Friday & Sunday nights).
Stay Spotlight: ‘Flamingo Key’
Travelling with a group? Check into Flamingo Key, a waterfront home that sleeps 14. With stylish indoor/outdoor living, it’s perfect for families, friends or even a cheeky long weekend during the festival. You’ll love the easy access to Broadbeach’s restaurants and beaches.
Insider Tip of the Week
Book a sunset kayak tour through the Gold Coast canals — it’s a relaxing way to see the city from a new perspective and great for couples or families with older kids. Or, ask us about kayak hire delivered to your holiday home.
We’ll be back next week with more events, foodie finds, and Gold Coast goodness! If you’re planning a stay soon, now’s the time — June is one of the coast’s best-kept secrets.
Until next week,
