A visit to any of these restaurants, which all come complete with fireplaces, should be top of your Gold Coast foodie bucket list this winter.
Fox and Hounds Country Inn
If you’re keen to embrace the winter vibes, head straight to Fox and Hounds Country Inn at Tamborine Mountain. This traditional English pub, set in the beautiful hinterland, screams winter cosiness, pouring authentic British ales and boasting interiors imported all the way from the UK. Gather a group of up to six people and enjoy a two-hour booking by their outdoor fire pits. You need to spend a minimum of $250 (easily done with Robina Pavilions mouth-watering menu of food and drinks) but you’ll receive complimentary marshmallows and roasting sticks to get everyone into the spirit.
D’Arcy Arms, Surfers Paradise
You’ve no doubt noticed the D’Arcy Arms – it’s hard not to, what with its stone façade and Irish flag standing in stark contrast to the towering skyscrapers of Surfers Paradise. But have you ever been inside? In addition to authentic Irish beers and speciality dishes, you’ll also find a cosy fire in the open fireplace. It’s what winter dreams are made of.
St Bernards Hotel
This Tamborine Mountain favourite has stood tall for over a century, beloved by day trippers, locals and travellers from faraway places alike. The breathtaking views are paralleled only by their delicious menu of winter warmers (which are best enjoyed by the toasty fire). True to the hotel’s name, this venue is even home to two beautiful St Bernards, Cooper and Syrah.

They’re known for their Instagram-worthy cocktails and mouth-watering dishes, but did you know that Miss Moneypenny’s in Broadbeach also offers a crackling fire? Unwind in this funky restaurant, cocktail in hand, before or after enjoying a delicious meal with friends or family. Perfect.
Woodchoppers Inn, Mudgeeraba
Barbeques, beer and… moonshine? Yep, you can experience all three by the warmth of a roaring at Woodchoppers Inn. Especially perfect for gin fans, the Woodchoppers will teach you the art of making moonshine, walking you through each step of the ‘shinning’ journey – from grain to glass.
